Welcome to Kathmandu Restaurant, the premier Nepalese dining destination in Windsor Heights, IA, proudly serving the Des Moines area since 2019. As the only Nepalese restaurant in the region, we bring the rich, authentic flavors of Nepali and Indian cuisine to your table. Our diverse menu features favorites like freshly baked naan, savory lamb and goat dishes, traditional thali, mouthwatering desserts, and a selection of adult beverages to complement your meal. Whether you're joining us for a sit-down dinner or exploring our popular buffet, we strive to make every visit feel warm, welcoming, and full of flavor. Online Order Pickup, mostly Indian food: No fees, no card fees, no service fees from their site. Food was ready quickly/by stated time Food was hot Service was polite Parking was good Heavy, chewy, fluffy naan, not tortilla-like Take it easy on your teeth, chew slowly 😄 I did not get any unpleasant char or coarse bits that can sometimes be transferred from the tandoor to the naan Basmati was good, not overcooked This is my first online order at any restaurant where the requested spice heat levels were taken into account, Major props. "Hot" was hot, without detracting from the flavor Always order hot if you can. Chicken tikka masala is creamy, the chicken itself is very good. Easy to eat a lot of it, broadly appealing Samosa Chaat is good, though I prefer my samosas whole, they chop theirs in. Best when dining in. Chutneys were slightly thin, but tasted great Restaurants is clean, does not smell like a deep fryer or wok. Prices were fair to good. I'll definitely be back.

I have been here for both buffet and a-la-carte. I have enjoyed the food each time; ate buffet recently - there were great choices and the food was great. Great representation of South Asian culture. Pricing is reasonable too!!

We have been here several times while visiting our friends in the Des Moines area. This joint offers authentic Nepali food. Our favorites are lamb sekuwa, chowmein and momo. Highly recommended place.
